Vmware Patch for fstab problem

Earlier I blogged that a Vmware tools upgrade modified the /etc/fstab file and removed manually added entries. Vmware release a patch today for this problem. This patch is for ESX 3.5i. For ESX 3.5 will be released later today. Thanks to Ducan from Yellow Bricks.

SLP DA giving out services with 127.0.0.1 and SLP DA status show up as NORSP in slpinfo

I noticed with a tool called slpsnoop, that service advertise them self with a ip adress 127.0.0.1 When I look for example at /etc/slp.reg.d/ntp.reg I see the following registration: service:ntp://$HOSTNAME:123,en,65535 When I do a echo $HOSTNAME I get the servername back.
